About SLDF

Sri Lanka Design Festival (SLDF) is designed to promote Sri Lanka’s creative and design industries with a focus on the Sri Lankan apparel industry, its incredible capabilities and commitment to sustainability and ethical practices on a global platform.  SLDF returns in November 2012 for its fourth edition, and will engage key players of the local apparel industry, craft industry and other creative industries such as the advertising and architecture industries. SLDF offers countless business and networking opportunities for those seeking sourcing prospects in Sri Lanka, which is now the world’s leading ethical apparel sourcing destination.

It also has a focus on traditional Sri Lankan arts and crafts, aiming to develop the local craft industry into a cutting-edge, vital industry equipped to meet the demands of the modern international export market, while promoting ethical practices and developing sustainable livelihoods for rural artisans through offering special training and design input.

It also provides young designers in fashion design, graphic design and interior design with an international platform for their ideas, while promoting the value of design education across the country.
