Afternoon Session – Special screening of 2011 Cannes Lion Festival for Creativity winners TV campaigns, narrated by local industry creative directors. With a coffee break

Talk 1: Professional Practice in a Burgeoning Field
Interior design is a young professional field in the Sri Lankan Market. As the industry is created and industry standards established, the issues of personal business practices is at the fore. Dealing with engendering the image of the industry, it will also be a place to discuss the ins and outs of being an independant small business in this new field. New York Interior Designer Donald Hill shares from his 20+ years of experience.

Talk 2: Interior Design and Historical/Decorative Arts
An insiprational look at incoroprating craft and traditional artforms in modern design. This allows for a diversity of style, taste, and expertise. Learning to work with an ecological and heritage-related goals of the contemporary international market means learning to foster the past along with the present.

Talk 3: Interior Design in the Public Sphere
To round-out the concept of industry and business in the morning, the final lecture will deal with the philanthropic side of design. Interior designers can and do work in the public sphere (as well as the private) and that they lend some benefit to commuity, municipality, and functional space.

Morning session: Sri Lankan Photography in the 21st century: Dead or Alive?
A Professional Debate about the level of professionalism, the state of the commercial market, and the future of photography in Sri Lanka. This talk aims to bring up issues in the contemporary scene and to raise some solutions to the direction of future professionals
Afternoon session: Adding some real expertise to your photographs and your skills as a photographer is about learning light. Working with UK film and photography expert Chris Burgess, come into the studio to learn pro lighting techniques. This day will be all about getting the most from the lights and work with diffusions, gels and strobes. This veteran of the film sets will bring his expertise to the studio to help learn from cinematic staging to recreate high-drama photographs.
